Carnival
The last day of Term 2 was the annual Athletics Carnival. Although we hadn't really been gearing up for it for long (the Quest took up so much attention this term) the girls had a fantastic day, with the stereo blaring all day and cheering competitions leading (as they always seem to here) into dance-offs, with each house having one or two girls who'd be the cheer-girls for their team, showing off their moves. Each girl who won would be welcomed home with loud war cries and pidgin chants (Ayo Kalula... wish I knew the rest)and supported on broad shoulders, often to collapse completely on the ground.
As soon as I saw Jospehine's pants I knew I needed a photo of her!
With icecream and cordial and lollies provided, music and dancing all day, no one to telling them to be quiet, and the prospect of 2 weeks holiday at the end of it... who wouldn't be having a good time?

Victory for Gold House
The first part of the day was the marching competition, followed by the war cries, where the girls race out with handfuls of paint to colour the other houses.
My 10P girls were the cheerleaders for the Green house and they were so funny - I wish I had a better photo of Eunice before she changed out of her twitching hips and white skirt - she really stole the show in the marching category.
Red enthusiasm
